Arachnid

You start out shipping a package home and end up destroying a space station. How does that work? Dr. Gwen Finn finds herself trapped on a remote Pacific atoll with a cache of bio-weapons, spiders ten times their normal size, a Russian terrorist, and an elf named Rhett Butler. Gwen can't wait to get off the atoll, but that's only the start of her adventure.

Arachnid is the first book in a series of buggy sci-fi adventures. If you like strong female characters, and stories that are equal parts romance and adventure, you'll love this first book in Jo Carey's Bug Hunters in Space.
