Asylum Hysteria

Beginning January 18, 2018, my life took a drastic hit. It began with non-epileptic psychogenic seizures (NEPS), which are seizures that occur because of anxiety -- not because of epilepsy. Since then, life around me crumbled. The longer time went, the more and more I began to lose my sanity. What eventually made me split from reality is how I was raped three times, in my apartment, most likely by the same person. I know that I was raped because I remember fragments. They used my disability (NEPS) to their advantage. It ended with me heading to the psych center in a nearby hospital. No one would listen to me when I said I was raped, so I never got a rape kit. I ended up in the state mental hospital for several months. After I was released, I had pages upon pages of poetry I'd written to help soothe myself during the rough times of being in such a place. These poems reflect where my mind was at the time. Almost all of these poems were written when I was in the state hospital.
