Atlas of the Polar Regions

Publisher Description

The Atlas of the Polar Regions provides a visual and interactive representation of the most remote, mysterious regions of the planet—the poles. Exploring a variety of different perspectives, ranging from physical to chemical, economic to cultural, the atlas draws upon knowledge and data from a multitude of disciplines to create a wholesome portrayal. The nine chapters include a variety of interactive maps and figures used to investigate pertinent topics, with many focusing on emerging trends related to climatic change. The first chapter describes global processes that affect both poles, the next four chapters visit the North Pole and surrounding Arctic region, and the the last four chapters examine the Antarctic continent and the South Pole.
