In this Summer edition of Australian Trucking Quarterly, road test Kenworth’s latest T610 Safety Truck. New emission regulations may be just around the corner, but Cummins and Kenworth are certainly getting ahead of the game with real world testing of their Euro-6 engines and models. Technical Editor Howard Shanks joined the Kenworth Safety Truck tour to experience the new high torque output of the Hummin’ Cummins under the hood of a T610. 


Then we journey to Brisbane, QLD, to check out what the engineers call “Intensive Linehaul Application”, but the operators just call it their job. Nevertheless, it’s one hell’vea job, one truck, and a handful of dedicated drivers on a run that traverses the entire state of Queensland with time sensitive produce in high tech sophisticated modern machines, like these immaculate K200 Kenworth prime movers fitted with the full safety suite and Barker’s latest smart trailers with BPW axles and disc brakes. 


In the Darling Downs, we catch up with a slick Limited-Edition Kenworth T909 Director and Lusty EMS Lead Slider tipper, Tri-axle Dolly and Tip-Over-Axle trailer that can make up either a B-Double or Roadtrain combination.
