Battlestar
Could tell author read a lot about bee’s prior to writing this book. But not a book about physics, military history, chain of command, ship design etc. would have given 1/2 or 1/4 star if I could.
Read much better
Started out with a lot of promise but unfortunately they author dropped the ball big time. I do realize this is a science fiction novel but being in that category does not justify the liberties the author takes on just plain logic and common sense. Awake pill? How old are the people on board the ship 6? When they leave the system there is no way in hell they would have jumped back to a habited system leading an enemy force there they would have jumped out of system stopped in open space and then made a few random jumps to lose any following forces then jumped to a system owned by humans. There are just to many glaring idiotic actions and assumptions, the “Acting Captain” who has no experience and hardly paid any attention in the naval academy just enough to get by is portrait like he is sitting next to the enemy leader listening to him make decisions and give orders and then planning his actions accordingly. Managed to make it through the first novel but couldn’t get past the first few pages of book 2. There is sci fi/fantasy and then just plain off your rocker fantasy unfortunately the later is what this series falls under. It has a nice pace decent action scenes and decent character development. Shame the author seems to have lost any and all grip on reality for the rest of the novel, you can’t force situations to further the story it has to be a natural curve.
