Behind Locked Doors

A university student from Toronto, Canada, takes a short vacation in Calcutta, India, where a "friend" guides him to a "special place." Unbeknownst to Jared, he enters a room with a twelve-year-old girl named Hann'Sha, who shockingly expects him to engage in sexual acts. Horrified, he escapes but is soon consumed by guilt for leaving her behind, prompting him to make it his mission to rescue her from her traffickers. Inspired by true events and a real young Indian girl, this story sheds light on the plight of countless children in India and beyond, sold into sexual servitude by desperate families. As Jared strives to save Hann'Sha, he confronts corrupt law enforcement and a perilous criminal underworld that will do anything to keep her. Will he succeed, or is he heading for inevitable danger?

"Written in elegant prose, it is not only about the ills of humanity, but also about hope and optimism...Overall, it is a good thriller..."
