Absolutely phenomenal!!!
What a way to blow my mind!! The twists in this book were dark, numerous, and so unbelievable at times that I had to stop reading to process just how devious the antagonist was. To say this was a thriller is to state it mildly. It knocked my socks off and kept me guessing. It was as suspenseful as could be. There were plenty of nail-biting, breath-stealing scenes that had me totally enraptured with Spencer and Blake. How they fell in love while trying to beat a psycho at his own game was awe-inspiring. Will I reread this book? You bet. I know I'll find things I missed the first time in my eagerness to see what deliciousness was waiting on the next page. J.L. Drake has written another spellbinding story that won't be easy to beat.
Spencer is hired as a ghostwriter by a psychotic writer unable to write his own books, who is running around bringing the books to life, or death, as it were. Blake is the hot new detective at the precinct who catches the case but falls in love with Spencer, his sergeant's niece, as he works the file. As the psycho gets Spencer to pen the story, Spencer and Blake try to outwit him and prevent each subsequent death. But somehow, he stays one step ahead of them. Spencer has to write a set number of books. Can they figure out the psycho's identity in time?
Be forewarned: this author loves to keep your heart in your throat with her writing. Be brave and jump in with both feet if you dare.
All I can say is Whaaaat! Great read!
I can’t believe it’s just one book. I’m still thinking about the story. Highly recommend this book if you can stay up all night to finish it. Maybe a Friday?

As usual with this authors books, there were many twists and turns in this exciting, latest, story she has written.
We meet the main character, Spencer, who is still recovering from a traumatic event from a few years back; throw in Will, her useless user self-entitled drug-addicted thief of a brother; then include Blake, an extremely handsome policeman - and the story excitingly flows. Loved the deep dark holes we go down and the truths exposed, you never see coming!
