Publisher Description

From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes a brand new standalone novel. BEING BROOKE is a laugh-out-loud, witty, sexy, and sometimes highly inappropriate romantic comedy about being in love with your best friend. And how much that freaking sucks.

My name is Brooke Barker...
And I'm a freaking disaster.
No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.
Not to mention I'm completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.
The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.
The second problem? He's my best friend.
My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.
And that’s all he can be, right?

4 Ridiculously funny stars

A friends to lovers romance filled with sass and plenty of laugh out loud moments. I was thoroughly entertained by Brooke’s “hot mess” antics. This is one of those heroines where I totally could have seen myself as her best friend.
My only complaint is I was a disappointed that the build up between Brooke and Cain was rather anti-climactic. Literally. Being a huge fan of this author, I was totally expecting them to come together in the end (quite literally) with some explosive chemistry as a result of all the sexual tension, but alas no. That event was only referenced, not depicted. I really wanted at least one sexy times scene! Despite that, this was still a feel good, perma-grin story with plenty of antics that made me laugh.

Okay, but lacking

It was hard to get over the constant spelling and grammar errors in this book. The story was predictable. Getting over Brooke's childish behaviour was difficult.

Being Brooke

A very funny romantic comedy. A bff to lovers story with a lot of humour to get to that point. The supporting characters add to the hilarity of the story. Well worth the lack of sleep to finish.
