Just finished reading and this books is very informative. Makes a lot of sense when there I reason and studies to do things versus hearing it from word of mouth from others. About to start the routines and trying my best with the diet and hopefully can for 3 months so see results. Thanks for a good read!

Insanely Useful

There’s so many things that I would have never learned if I didn’t read this book. Also kinda feels like I just read a whole season of myth busters fitness edition. 5stars

Life Changing

All my life I have struggled (and yo-yo'ed) with my weight. I seem to be from a genetic pool of short, stocky bodies pre-disposed to the pear shape. I would cringe any time I would catch sight of my reflection, especially if I had my shirt off. I understand, and have felt, the fat shaming so prevalent in our society. In the summer of 2015 my personal life unexpectedly began to spiral out of control. In January of 2016 (at 1.71 m [5'8"], 85 kg [187 lbs] and 30+% body fat, not my heaviest either) in an attempt to regain control of my mental health, I began to focus on my physical health, using the app Couch-to-10K, to get back into running. In February my sister turned me on to the app MyFitnessPal and I began to track my macro nutrients. I was SHOCKED at what, and how many calories, I had been consuming. In April, 2016, I achieved my goal of running 12 km [7.5 miles] non-stop. Nearing my weight goal in June, I decided to hire a personal trainer, to keep me disciplined and focused, and to start building muscle. Then Google introduced me to Bigger, Leaner, Stronger and Mike Mathews. I have listened to the audiobook version twice and am just finishing reading the digital version for the first time. My life is forever changed. I know more about nutrition, how my body works and building muscle than I ever have, and most of my peers do. Know how your body works, treat it right, and it WILL respond. I had no idea just how easy it is to do this work. Mike's evidenced based approach to health and fitness resonates with my way of thinking. Mike's unbiased, transparent, no-nonsense approach and the information he shares is easy to understand and incorporate into my daily life. Now, at 68.1 kg [150.1 lbs] and 10.2% body fat, I am finally building the body I only ever dreamed of, and coveted. Now, when I catch a glimpse of my reflection, I smile.
