There is only so much you can prepare for documenting someone’s birth. Sure, you can get the business bits right, you can send out the invoices and contracts in time, you can get potential clients looking at your website, but what happens in that room... nobody can prepare you for that. Let me tell you my story of photographing a birth for the first time, let me tell you what I learned and how I can advise you if you want to go into birth photography.
