Black and Orange. A Pumkin Fairytale

Peter Peter the Pumpkin Eater as it was originally written was part of a unit of work around teaching colours, in particular the colour orange,  to Kindergarten.  This was when we taught in themes, colour aw eek, rainbow week, nursery rhymes, fairy tales in the following year.  Things have changed a lot since this story was originally written.  As I wrote the electronic version and renamed it Black and Orange A Pumpkin Fairytale, I loved the colours and the texture of of the pencils I used in the original illustrations.  In recreating the story for a new generation I hoped to capture the excitement of the small changes on each page as the magician worked his magic. Kids love trying to find the small changes in his clothes, his shoes and the background as the world changes from black and grey to a wonderful world of colour.  I hope you enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed recreating it for a modern world.
