A naive, confident, inexperienced Doctor in Kenya during the time of Mau-Mau troubles. Determined to prove something, unsure of the something he learns quickly through the diverse characters he encounters. A chance meeting with Amin develops in opposite directions, the Doctor’s devotion is the antithesis of Amin’s cruelty.The Doctor’s sexual awareness develops unexpectedly but he fears that it will never be fulfilled. His sanity is maintained by his work amongst the various tribal groups, his research and his passion for trains.
