The website promised this in utterly brilliant lettering. Magnificent pictures of a veritable paradise filled Emily’s home screen. Picture after picture of pristine beaches, untouched sands, delightful cabana houses... Smiling, beautiful women associated with impressive men. It did seem that most of said men happened to be natives, but that just made the whole resort that much more progressive... Native owned, native operated, as it were. They promised complete satisfaction and had absolutely glowing reviews.

After the year Emily Walton was having, she needed it. Back-to-back film projects, followed by an NGO speech, followed by talks of her upcoming book… The actress/model/activist was about to collapse! Fortunately, one of her agents had referred her to the Ebon Isle Resort. The resort had been most enthusiastic to have Emily on board. They said she was precisely the clientele they catered toward and made it abundantly clear that she would want for nothing. Two weeks had been booked immediately, with the best amenities the resort could provide.

…None of which explained Emily's current mood.
