Still holding Nikki close, Ty whispers gently "Oh God that is awful. Is that why the police were here? Did… did you see the person who did it?"

Wiping a tear from Nikki's cheek. "It is ok, I am here now!"

I look up at Ty in shock,

"Huh??? How can I see who did it??"

"No, no… I meant did you see anything? Maybe even on the train, with the person who might have done it. I am sure the police wanted to know if you saw anyone suspicious. You need to relax. Let me make you a drink."

As Ty leaves the room, I think of Blondie on the train. There was only him and me… and the fat man with the paper on his face. Hell, was he dead at that time? I shudder, as though seeing a ghost.

Ty, coming back into the room offering Nikki the drink. "Baby you look scared half to death." Sitting next to her comforting her. "Tell me what the police asked you about kitten."

I take a long sip of the rum and coke. It felt good.
