But NYPD dog handler Kieran Lehane, the squad's oldest detective, secretly pursues the case, forcing a review hearing where, much to his surprise, his dog suddenly "alerts" on a person in the audience.

The detective gives chase. Although he loses his suspect, he now has just what he wished for and more. He has the feds' attention, his squad's attention, and the terrorists' attention. There's just one problem: He may soon be forced to choose between saving the next planeful of victims and saving himself.
