The World Bank Group is a key development partner in South Asia with a portfolio of 185 projects and current total commitments of $30 billion. In fiscal 2010, the Bank approved 40 projects in the region: $6.7 billion in IBRD loans and $4.6 billion in IDA commitments. Lending to India in the fiscal year reached $9.3 billion, the institution's largest volume of lending ever to a single country in a single year. World Bank's development strategy in the region comprises of key pillars: inclusive growth and creating quality jobs, responding to financial and food price crises, and promoting regional cooperation.
