Breast Cancer, Chemo and Me

I was in the best shape of my life and diagnosed with breast cancer. I had two lumps. Invasive ductal carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ. I was HER2 positive and both estrogen and progesterone responsive. I was facing surgery and chemo.

Reflecting on the experience, there were so many things nobody mentioned. The internet is overwhelming. It’s hard to know what to believe and not believe. Most of what I found was scary and depressing. Frankly not very helpful to me. I needed something different to help me navigate the process of going through breast cancer, surgery and chemo, my way.

If I can help just one person by sharing my experience, then the writing was worth the effort.
