Burn down the night
This was my first of M. O’Keefe books. And oh my, it certainly put me through the wringer. The characters were so real, so layered. I was swept away by the depth of emotion Ms. O’Keefe could translate to words. I loved this story, and was gobsmacked to learn the author lives in my city. I wish this story could be made into a movie. Five stars.

I did not read the first 2 books in the series, but I didn't have a hard time following the story ... But I will go back and read them because this book was great! It is so different from all the other romance stories. For one thing Max is president of a MC club and a criminal, but he doesn't try and hide it by being a "nice" guy. And Joan is just a little crazy because of all the things she has gone through in her life. There is a strong force pulling them together, but they both are fighting it with everything they have. Even with all their faults, you couldn't help loving them and wanting them to work things out so they could be together. And sometimes they did such stupid things to hurt each other that you just wanted to shake them! Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down.
