This book was recommended to me months ago. I put it off for awhile and ended up purchasing the Kindle version. I wish I hadn't have waited so long. I ended up reading the book twice in one week on my summer vacation. The book is filled with great stories and insights to help you transform the way you think and act as a leader. I have already purchased 10 copies of the book to hand out the staff and coaches I lead in my context. One of the highlights of the book is the reading challenge at the end of the book. The authors make many great recommendations to help you along your path to mastery. I encourage you to buy this book and recommend it to everyone you know.

inner excellence ,

powerful. unconventional

I found this book to be really powerful and honest. The authors, both athletes, write from experience. I love their definition of mental toughness:
Have a great attitude.
Give your very, very best.
Treat people really, really well.
Have unconditional gratitude regardless of circumstances.

I’ve found that most books and coaches focus on mental toughness as not choking, or not striking out when the game is on the line, or even getting angry when you strike out.

The foundational principles laid out in the book are so powerful:
Put first things first.
burn your goals. (focus on commitments instead).
focus on controllables.
Focus on true mental toughness.

Another part i found super important is how we create beliefs:

What we read, watch, and listen to.
Who we surround ourselves with.
What we visualize.
How we talk to ourselves.
What we habitually do.

I found the book really powerful and got extra copies to give away.
