…always a clan protector – even if you have to redefine just who that clan is.

By day, Leandro Silva is a private investigator, dealing in fraud, theft and cheating spouses. By night, he prowls his neighbourhood and the surrounding districts, on the look out for troublemakers and criminals preying upon the residents of Manaus, just as he once protected his clan before the Europeans arrived in the heart of the Amazon. So when his good friend, Marta Vaz, brings him a case about a young woman effectively being held prisoner by her father, there's never a question about whether he'll take it on.

But what starts as a routine investigation soon takes a sharp turn towards a conspiracy and cover up ten years in the making and pits him against Manaus' richest man and his shady backers. Unravelling it will take all his skill, and at stake: the life of a young woman, her unborn baby and his own future.

It's a case that Leandro simply can't afford to lose.
