“Callan” (uncompromising 5) by Sybil Bartel
I felt really sad that both Decima and Callan had had few fond memories of their relations. It seemed as if neither cared much for the other. Both Callan and Emily have a lot to overcome communication wise given their different upbringings. I liked how the author used honesty and body language to describe their efforts. I’m not sure I understand Emily’s distaste for a relationship with her stepbrother. She never lived with him as a sister and only just discovered the relationship. There should be no stigma. Given Hero’s cultish upbringing, the author did an amazing an beautiful job of portraying Hero as alpha and vulnerable.
The only thing that bothered me was how could River Ranch been so prepared to overcome Andre and his crew.
Callan
Given Callan’s unique character and circumstances I think the author wove it all into a great story for this series. I really enjoyed it and hope that Ms. Bartel will consider writing more books to add to this series.
