Can You Find George Washington‪?‬

This is a delightful and colorful book about the life of George Washington, as told by the author, whose ancestor, John Hough, Jr., actually was a friend of George, worked with George as a surveyor, and served as George Washington’s financial manager. The author’s true connections to George Washington are historically documented and revealed in this unique portrayal of Washington’s life. 


The book provides short stories accompanied with famous copies of paintings and photos related to each story. Then, the reader is invited to locate George in most of the paintings and photos, with the question: Can You Find George? Embedded links to related websites are provided for more in-depth study of Washington’s life.


The author’s research included study of Washington’s life and gathering permission to use copies of many famous paintings and photographs from the Library of Congress, The New York Public Library, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, the National Archives, the Upper Makefield Historical Society in Pennsylvania, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Numismatic Society, the Virginia Historical Society, The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, the Sulgrave Manor Board, the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and others mentioned in the credits.
