In Café Focus, a group of marginalised individuals takes centre stage in this elegy to hope and optimism set in mid-nineties Germany. The story's events are narrated by a footloose young drifter who, after setting out to find fame and fortune abroad, ends up on a journey that will ultimately take him to red-carpet stardom in Munich. But things take on a new twist when he meets Manuela, the Bosnian temptress whose mysterious charms and dusky beauty belie a degree of emotional insecurity.
