Does life have meaning? Is there a God who is there? For Jack Shaw, the answer is no. A career as a personal injury lawyer has made him beyond jaded to numb. His life seems idyllic, living on a Florida archipelago, but inside, he?s bankrupt. He ends most nights in a drunken stupor. That begins to change when, in his new career as a private investigator, he befriends an elderly widow who has been receiving harassing phone calls. When she is murdered, Jack begins an odyssey investigating her death that will have international consequences. The adventurous path leads Jack and a vivacious, young reporter on a multi-state quest for truth, uncovering a plot to instigate war in the Middle East by an unusual coalition of neo-Nazis, Muslim extremists and a disgruntled U.S. military specialist, and in doing so, they also discover much about themselves.
