Chakra Art

Chakra Art is a collection of paintings created by River from 2014 to 2019. They portray a sense of continuity in an amazing creative path. Chakra is the Sanskrit for "disc" or "revolution". This describes 7 centers in the body within which energies or "energy centers" transform. This is the subject of these paintings. Chakras are found in Sanatan/Hindu and tantric/yogic traditions and called Ch'i in traditional Chinese medicine. Dynamic interaction of color, shape, stroke, afterimage makes these paintings excellent to ponder while practicing Hatha yoga, Zen Buddhism, Tai Chi, or Qigong. Without knowledge of the Chakra tradition, viewers intuitively find a meditative experience. A remarkable range of works captures visual meditations of universal fragments transforming into unity.
