Publisher Description
Charles "The Blade" Tourine was a Genovese caporegime who was intricately tied to gambling in Cuba, New York and Washington, D.C. I've uncovered an early incident from 1935 that links Tourine to poolroom gambling in Tuckahoe, Westchester County, New York. In May 1959 Tourine and five other underworld figures were slated for deportation from Communist Cuba. All were tied to Meyer Lansky who ran casinos and hotels in pre-Castro, Fulgencio Batista ruled Cuba. One of the men Dino Cellini, was affiliated with the Hotel Riviera in Havana. Lansky's brother Jack was also connected to this Cuban operation.
