This is the story of Convoy Charlie Tango Two Six on an escort mission in the summer of 2004. The mission for the men and women of 505th Military Police Company was to take a group of contractors to a village in Rus in the Diyala Province. The area the convoy had to travel was approximately 25 miles from the base camp. The convoy encountered small arms fire as they traveled along the assigned route. The contractors were made up of former veterans from the Vietnam War. This story is about how Convoy Charlie Tango Two Six came under attack while transporting a group of contractors to Rus by at least thirty to forty insurgents.
