Publisher Description
He built a world where desire was currency—until love came calling with a debt of its own.
Benedict Sterling founded The Gentleman Courtesans to ensure security—for himself and the friends who've become his family. But as the agency's success grows, so does the threat of exposure. A relentless gossip columnist has uncovered secrets that could destroy everything Benedict has built—including the truth he's guarded most closely: the one about his heart.
Enter Lord Alexander Osborne, Earl of Vautrey—the only man Benedict has ever loved, and the one who broke him. Now, after years apart, Alex returns to London determined to win him back. But Benedict has changed. Hardened. Guarded. And he isn't willing to risk his heart again.
To stay close, Alex makes a bold offer: a contract, one that makes Benedict his courtesan in name and duty. For now, Alex will take what he can get. But he won't stop until he's reclaimed the man he once lost—body, heart, and soul.
With the past threatening to repeat itself and a scandal looming on every page of the press, Benedict must decide if love is worth risking everything. Because for the first time in his life, it's not his body on the line—it's his heart.

Emotional mm book in terrific series
I adore this series and I love that Victoria Vale has included a mm story in it. This series is one of those that I wish that I had a special “extra” button that I could push for extra stars as they are all so good. Ben and Alex make such a lovely couple and when you learn what they had to go through to be together you will be amazed. This is part of why I like to read historical gay romance as it adds the extra element of having to be so careful and yet there were people who were gay back then. If you have read and enjoyed the rest of the series then don’t be scared off by the fact that this book is about two men. There isn’t much explicit sex as most of the book is about their long-standing love and what had broken them apart. The book also has the couples from the other books included and you learn a lot about why things had happened they way they did. It makes a very satisfying conclusion to the series but don’t worry as there is going to be an off shoot series continuing the Gentleman Courtesans.
