Good
A good book. The author did a wonderful job at creating in Tom a complicated character that is likeable and understandable. I liked that the author showed his quirky character all the way through instead of trying to explain him. The relationship between Cassandra and Tom is cute. Her soft, stunning and powerful soul and his ever growing appreciation for her was beautiful.
Simply Delightful
I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. Chasing Cassandra is the sixth book in Lisa Kleypas’s delightful The Ravenels series. You could read it as a stand-alone, but I’ve enjoyed reading the series immensely and recommend them all. Lady Cassandra Ravenel has just watched her beloved twin get married, and while she’s happy for her sister, she’s feeling just a bit left out and wondering if she will ever meet someone who loves her. Tom Severin, a wealthy businessman, has everything he could wish for, but something seems to be missing, and he’s not quite sure what it is until he spies Cassandra Ravenel, and every instinct he possesses says yes this, and he tells her I’ll be your Oyster. Their path to HEA is not a smooth one as Tom only acknowledges five feelings, love is not one of them, and Cassandra is not willing to settle for anything less. One of the things I liked most about their story is that he listens to her, and she understands instinctively what he’s not saying because to her, his actions speak as loudly as others words. The locked up tightly wound hero who learns to let go is one of my favourites and I relished every page of this book. Medium Steam.
