An interactive companion resource that covers Achievement Standard 91165 - Demonstrate understanding of the properties of selected organic compounds, from NCEA Level 2 Chemistry. The first chapter introduces organic chemistry, how compounds are represented, isomers of compounds, as well as how they are named. The second chapter investigates hydrocarbons, the simplest of the organic families. The final chapter deals with alcohols and their derivatives: carboxylic acids, haloalkanes and amines, as well as how to distinguish between organic compounds.
