While the three sisters are on the train not having told anyone of their journey, the daughter of one of them, Mia, is in search of her suddenly missing mother. When she discovers that her mother’s past is packed with never mentioned secrets, her whole world shatters. But, before she gets the opportunity to demand answers from her mother, her mother dies. However, the questions, arising from the secrets are too important for her existence to give up. She goes on searching for truth.
The novel is also a story about the lost ideals, bitter experiences and humiliations that break tender women’s souls, preventing them from living a happy, normal life.
