Publisher Description
A sweet romance with an important message. After his son’s dog is found by a woman on Cougar Mountain, Kellen and his son go to get the escape artist, a Border Collie. After five minutes, the woman, Zoey, tells him his son is dyslexic. She is a facilitator who helps people make the most of this gift, and quickly helps his son control his level of activity, so that he can sleep at night. Kellen doesn’t believe her, and leaves. But the storm has washed out the road, and he can’t leave Cougar Mountain, so returns. As his son learns to control his dyslexia, Kellen and Zoey begin to fall in love.
“When you tell him not to do something, he does it. He may go the opposite way when you give him directions. He hasn't learned to read, and may not even know his ABCs. Loud noises might bother him. The other kids pick on him."
He nodded. She had seen Reese all of five minutes. How did she know this?
"Teachers get angry at him because he won't follow directions. He has a hard time going to sleep at night. And when you try to teach him something, he spins around, taps his fingers, goes upside down in his chair, and just won't sit still. He probably has no concept of time. Does any of that sound like Reese?"

A wholesome romance that gave me hope for the future
Based on a grandmother’s actual experience with her grandchild receiving dyslexia therapy, the reality and details of this story were engaging. She captures a run-away Dog loose on a freeway ramp that belongs to this single dad and son, who happens to have dyslexia. She runs a dyslexia counselling practice her own from her home, and while reclaiming their dog the road washes out giving her the opportunity to counsel the son. Skeptical, the Dad consents to try, but is skeptical that the counselling treatment is too good to be true. He departs in the worst possible way with boorish behaviour, thinking he has been scammed. When he realized he wasn’t, he returns with his heart in hand, thankfully, to rescue her. This rescue seems a tad melodramatic, but it barely takes away from the decisiveness of their decision to claim the one they love. When you know and have clear expectations, you know. I appreciate decisiveness and wholesome HEAs. The whole dyslexia treatment method was so wonderful it made me dream of a life where I could do this as well. We’ll see… 3.75 out of 5.
