Customer Reviews
Immersive writing style brings to life a critical turning point in history
Ben Kane has grown to be one of my favourite authors from any genre - especially that of historical fiction. His writing style immerses the reader in an ancient world that we can only dream of bringing to life. The character development is what really gets me hooked into his storytelling and one of the aspects that he has mastered is the ability to persuade the reader to see a conflict from multiple perspectives through the lens of four complicated and relatable characters, two of which that are on each side of the conflict. I found myself unable to determine which ‘team’ to choose: Roman or Greek - regardless of my knowledge of how history turns out.
I look forward to the release of the remaining books of the series, as I look forward to seeing where the characters paths will lead them in this chapter of history that I have always wanted to delve more into.
