It's been a year since Konrad and Weston narrowly escaped the Gancanagh island, Achaeten. Weston is lost: longing for someone he can't have, struggling to find purpose in the world, and hiding from a mysterious predator in the woods. Even his Luck magic hasn't shown him a true path forward.

Faced with troubles of his own, Konrad cannot reconcile his growing feelings for Weston. Duty and practicality call him home to Khale at night, but the more he denies his desire for Weston, the more it grows.

When Luck finally shares a hint of the future, Konrad and Weston once again put their faith in each other as they venture from the safety of their little farm and toward the wild sea. Hearts on the line, Konrad and Weston return to the island where it all began. But, there is more at stake than their own emotions, as lives hang in the balance and the lines between enemy and ally blur.
