Code Blues
An interesting enough read with a lot of medical jargon as to be expected with a few spelling errors. If this was written using voice technology, the technology failed. The book could have used a better proof-reader. The plot works and some of the characters are alive with personality but it’s easily predicted. The use of American spelling of English does not suit a Canadian book that includes French-Canadian correctly written. It is so weird when authors do that and it’s irritating to this Canadian reader and seems disrespectful overall. It is surprising that it was nominated for Canadian awards with this incessant American spelling which unfortunately distracts the reader.
