Isabel was tired. Tired of so many things. But never too tired to help a friend. It's the end of charity masquerade season in the Puget Sound area when a friend asked for her help. Only among the small cluster of people she called friends was she comfortable with her "gift".

And it's just a coincidence that she's dressed as Beauty from "Beauty and the Beast". And it's just coincidence that the boy she had a crush on when she was thirteen is there as the Beast. Just one curious coincidence after another.

Left on the steps of the hospital when she was barely a couple hours old, Jane Foster never knew where she came from or why she was left. But she had long ago decided she was one of the lucky ones with a mother and father who wanted her. Even when she had taken the toaster apart to see how it worked.

Coincidence had a friend looking to buy a car she was sleeping in; a friend she hadn't seen in years. Coincidence had a man following her when she walked on the beach a couple hours later. He swore, just before he threw her over his shoulder, that he just was there to relay a message and convince her to speak to a mysterious un-named someone. Uh-huh...she really was buying that one.
