Some places are abandoned for a reason. Others are hidden because they were never meant to be found.

Deep on the North Yorkshire Moors, the village of Frenshamdale lives beneath the shadow of Compound 19.

No one knows who runs it. Unmarked vehicles arrive after dark. Strange lights move across the moors. Animals refuse to go near the perimeter.

And the locals have learned not to ask questions.

Sixteen-year-old Phillip Greenwild has other ideas.

When Phillip and his friends set out to discover what lies beyond the compound's electrified fence, they uncover a forgotten route beneath the moors—and evidence of a secret government project dating back to 1979.
