Today’s world consists of five major religions—Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism—each consisting of millions of followers over time.  They have all had a major impact historically as well as presently on lifestyles, politics, and cultures. It should be noted that of the present world population, which consists of over six billion people, more than half of that population professes to be Christian in one form or another.
