Conditioned Identities

This book contains selected papers from the meeting «Conditioned Identities. Wished-for and Unwished-for Identities» held in the Institute for Research in Identities and Society (University of Lleida) in 2013, which joined many interdisciplinary participants discussing about the imposition and the acceptation of the Identities. The different chapters of the books, written for scholars and researchers from all the word, analyse the conflict around the attributed and the chosen identities from History, Language, Literature, Sociology and Anthropology throughout all the historical times and in many different geographies. Theoretical and practical studies are combined in order to contribute to a renewal of perspectives around a key item for understanding the roots of the present society and the problems around the conviviality in the current world.
