Cow-Country

In the harsh, sun-scorched expanse of the Staked Plains, four-year-old Buddy Birnie journeys north with a vast trail herd, his family, and the cowboys of the Tomahawk outfit. While his mother frets over water and exhausted oxen, Buddy wanders off chasing a horned toad, kills a rattlesnake, and stubbornly insists he is not lost, even as the camp searches for him. This Western adventure follows Buddy's coming of age among the cattle, the dust, and the campfires, as he learns the ways of the trail and the grit required to survive on the frontier.
