Compelling storyline.
As a damaged mage in a world that distrusts magic, Sarn leads a very precarious and stressful existence. Add the complication of having a young son who is also a potential mage, and his indenture to a power-hungry nobleman and perhaps we can forgive him has often distracted thoughts and frustrating naivety.
