As a fiction and non-fiction filmmaker and a professor of film at three universities in Canada, I am delighted to recommend this comprehensive digital film school created by Stavros Stavridies and Maurio Belli. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, there is something in this book for you. Beginning with a thorough review of the history of film followed by a valuable dictionary of film terms, this educational module becomes a practical guide for the praxis of filmmaking. For my film students, it will be a resource for both my film theory classes as well as my film practice classes. Beautifully deisgned and easy to navigate, if you are interested or involved in film at all, you need to download this excellent and timeless resource.
Sixty-Seven year old techno dinosaur makes an iPad film
I have been interested in storytelling and screenwriting for many years. When an opportunity arose to take the Cyber Film School Book in a small group of interested filmmakers I tip-toed into the program with a great deal of trepidation because of my lack of technical skills. I took the course because I had ideas and some vision as to how my screenplays might look. What fears I had over what I lacked in technical language and skills were soon allayed when the Cyber Film Course instructors walked us through the Book. All the materials needed were supplied ie. iPads, tripods, mikes, lighting gear etc. Above all else, it was the patient hands on tutoring of the invaluable information contained in the Cyber Film School Book that was always at the centre of the experience. In the end, I gained so many valuable incites into filmmaking and had a 5-minute short film which I shot, edited, and narrated to show for it when done. This Book is a wonderful gift to those interested in the craft of filmmaking whether you are a high school student or a senior citizen. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to have taken the Cyber Film School Book. Thank you!

This is an incredibly well thought out book. The lessons are easy to follow, the logic spot on, the testimonials from some of filmmaking’s giants really drive home the fundamentals - it draws you into the experience of filmmaking while lifting the curtain on the craft, step by step. If you want to learn to make a film, Cyber Film School is a must have.
