The all-powerful Hardukai Empire have swept through from the East, devastating the old Kingdom of Arkonia. The Arkonians are now little more than vassals, subject to the rule and whims of their new masters.

Few remembered the catastrophic battle where their greatest hero, Rezak Al-Brega, had been betrayed and mortally wounded. Spirited away to Lyfanya, the sacred mountain, he had never been heard from again. Still, it was prophesied that one day Rezak would return.
