David Villa's Personal Financial Plan

David Villa is trying to develop a personal financial plan. Currently beginning a full-time job and having no dependents, his short-term goal is to conserve cash for future investment opportunities and make mortgage payments. His 5-year plan is to save enough money to fund a two-year MBA program in the United States. His long-term goal is to optimize the terminal value of an aggressive growth portfolio for retirement. These goals are combined with detailed knowledge of his personal and current financial situation, high-risk profile, and investment policy for each of his MBA and retirement portfolios to produce a three-pronged action plan: Develop a monthly personal budget; meet financial security and short-term reserves obligations; and finally, create a sustainable retirement plan.
