Devotions is written by the poet, John Donne. In this particular book, Donne meditates on man's mortality, having come to grips with the recent deaths of several family members. Each chapter is structured as a meditation, expostulation, and prayer. Reading this book, one is not only deeply impressed by Donne's command of the English letters, but also moved by the thought of this writer.
