Don’t Put Descartes Before The Horse
An Historical Fiction Account Of The Enlightenment
Publisher Description
Grade nine students at Alliance High School wrote historical fiction short stories on the Enlightenment. These stories are an introduction into the achievements of a few great Enlightenment leaders, making their lives accessible to a young reading audience. Students wrote from the perspective of their fictional character who interacted with an Enlightened philosopher or liberating general during a momentous event. Although some students worked alone a majority worked in collaborative partnerships. All artwork on the pages was student created. As their teacher I am very proud of the time and effort that the students took to create these books. I am also very appreciative of the work that Jon Smith, Alliance High School’s Technology Director, committed to spearheading this historical fiction project. A special thanks goes out to Taylor Smith for designing the cover.
Thank you,
