Eating Disorder

Many eating disorders are related to a project of unbalanced diet. In an effort to conform to an ideal of thinness packed with cultural elements almost always misleading, men and women engage in projects that serve food to achieve the ideal, far from pursuing their own happiness. The failure of this project is seen as failure of his personal and social identity. Depression can be then the effect of determining the difference between her body and the ideal. This ideal is the basis of the widespread use of diets and sports activities dedicated to the care of the body. Women in particular, are more exposed to suffering produced by this tension toward the social ideal, as the body fat is the ideal of contemporary beauty. Despite the multiplicity of hypotheses advanced to explain this widespread phenomenon, it is shared the idea of an adjustment for those models that face cultural ideals of beauty marked by exaggerated standards of thinness. On a psychological and social factors that are considered most frequently implicated in the onset of eating disorders relate to low self-esteem, perfectionism, depression, impulsiveness, distortion of body image, lack of relevant social and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
