Publisher Description
Ed wants nothing more than to be left to his own devices—specifically his PC and the RPG to which he has devoted his life. When a hacker wrests control of his computer and notifies him of an imminent threat, Ed is ousted from his home and forced out into a city afflicted with paranoia.
A mysterious contagion has landed in the City of Antwood, frightening citizens and causing authorities to declare Medical Law. Businesses are shuttered, movement is restricted, and people are being force-fed fear. Only by agreeing to aid an underground Librarian is Ed able to navigate this bizarre state of affairs, though the lifeline he is offered comes with caveats.
Ed will need to keep on the move, stay ahead of the men in white uniforms, and continue to play The Game. Only the more Ed plays, the more he comes to realize strange connections between The Game and the real world—that perhaps something malevolent has escaped from inside, winding its tendrils around Antwood in an attempt to strangulate the very city itself.
As he delves ever deeper into The Game, can Ed find the courage to destroy what he loves to set himself free?
