Education for Sustainability (EfS) in the Primary Curriculum is one of the first books to apply EfS principles to the elementary curriculum. As a faculty member in the first Education for Sustainabilty graduate program in the United States, I am anxious to stay current with the literature and thinking in this critical field. Other books worthy of note in the United States include Smart by Nature by Michael Stone and (hopefully) Place- and Community-based Education in Schools by Greg Smith and myself. But really, Education for Sustainability in the Primary Curriculum is the most comprehensive of the three, and most grounded in the international EfS movement.
