Publisher Description

ECG, which stands for Electrocardiography, an electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. The process uses electrodes to detect the tiny electrical change on the skin that are arisen by the heart muscle depolarizing with each heartbeat. Also referred to as EKG, the test is performed to record the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time.

The cardiac output is an essential cardiovascular event required sustain blood flow throughout the body. Apart from blood volume and contractile strength, the heart must sustain a regular cycle of relaxation and contraction to serve its underlying purpose. A series of complex electrophysiological events within the cardiac tissues predicate this regularity. These events are generally monitored using a device called an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG). Many prefer EKG to ECG because it's less confusing with EEG, the abbreviated form of electroencephalogram.

Dynamic electrocardiogram monitoring is a standard practice required to provide general anesthesia and deep sedation. Though considerable cardiovascular changes, if occur, can be directly attributed to moderate sedation techniques. For this reason, patients with significant cardiovascular disease are recommended ECG monitoring. Conventional 12 lead ECG process involves placing ten electrodes on the patient's limbs and chest. The 12 leads help measure the overall magnitude of the heart's electrical potential from twelve different angles, which is then recorded over a period of time (usually 10 seconds). This is how the overall magnitude and direction of the heart's electrical depolarization is detected at each moment throughout the cardiac cycle. The graph voltage versus time produced by the process is referred to as an electrocardiogram, which is also abbreviated ECG or EKG.

The electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a noninvasive test that is used to reflect underlying heart conditions by measuring the electrical activity of the heart. By positioning leads (electrical sensing devices) on the body in standardized locations, information about many heart conditions can be learned by looking for characteristic patterns on the EKG.

Finally, I want to say thank you for your downloading. I expect that you can have knowledge about ECG to perform it better in certain time. Enjoy this book!
